IRCND 2023

We cordially invite participants from all over the world to attend the 3rd International Research Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases (IRCND 2023) on October 20-23, 2023 on the University of Arizona campus. IRCND 2023 will be in-person in the best season in beautiful Tucson, AZ. We believe that this conference will offer broad support for researchers in the neurodegenerative disease field to meet and exchange ideas. IRCND 2022 is the 3rd annual conference sponsored by the Global Association for the Study of Neurodegenerative Diseases (GASND). The GASND is offering discounted rates for conference registration and abstract submission if you join the GASND (GASND).(GASND).

Schedule At A Glance

Program Overview

Neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and other related disorders, are characterized by the loss of function and eventual death of nerve cells in the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system. Millions of people in the US and worldwide suffer from neurodegenerative diseases which require overwhelming healthcare support and heavy financial burden for patients and families. Currently, there is no curative therapy for these conditions. The underlying mechanism of the pathogenesis and progression of neurodegenerative diseases is not fully understood. The purpose of IRCND 2023 is to highlight important findings and achievements in the field and to promote exchange of information across different neurodegenerative diseases. The program committee is inviting renowned keynote speakers to introduce exciting presentations to our participants. The program committee has planned several themes for the conference and welcomes all participants to submit abstracts including, but not limited to, the thematic areas below. We look forward to meeting with you and learning exciting new findings in your laboratory!

Program Themes:
1. Neuroinflammation and peripheral/central nervous system interaction.
2. Cell-type and circuit mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration.
3. RNA binding proteins and RNA metabolism.
4. Phase separation, condensates, and proteostasis.
5. Dysfunction of mitochondria and other organelles.
6. Cellular senescence, epigenetics, and resilience to neurodegeneration.
7. Novel therapeutic and diagnostic approaches.
8. Metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics, and other omics.

Award

Young Investigator Award
Young Investigator Awards are available for postdoctoral fellows and graduate students based on the scientific merit and the quality of their abstract and presentation, as assessed by the IRCND Awards Committee. Applications for this award must be made online at the time of abstract submission in the IRCND website. Applicants submitting more than one abstract for presentation during the conference must specify which one they wish to be considered for the Award. Only one abstract from each participant is eligible for the Award consideration. Award winners will be selected to present their work with a 10 minute talk at the conference. Award winners will be recognized in the conference program with an award certificate.

Research & Education Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Awards are to appreciate senior mentors in the neurodegeneration field for their contributions both as a great mentor and as a renowned scientist to advance our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. The GASND and IRCND aim to promote young investigators, thus we particularly thank senior mentors for their lifetime effort on training and mentoring. All members in GASND have received training, guidance and advice from their mentors during different stages of their career. The great sprite and friendship between mentors and trainees not only push forward the scientific discovery but also highlight the power of the united family-like strength in our scientific community. The Conference Chair and the Organizing Committee will select the awardee from the GASND community.

All who wish to attend IRCND 2023 need to register and submit the payment via the "Pay Online" link below. Joining in or renewing the GASND membership can pay the discounted member-rate. If you submit an abstract, please indicate whether you will present a poster or to be considered for a verbal presentation.
A limited number of talks will be selected from trainees based on abstracts. All trainees' posters and talks will compete for awards unless you clearly state that you do not participate in award competition.
